Marrie Mendy is a dedicated professional with a profound interest and background in economics, statistics, and development planning. Her academic journey commenced with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The University of The Gambia, which provided her with a solid foundation in economic principles and practices.

Subsequently, Marrie pursued her first Master's in Statistics from Gaston Berger University Saint Louis, Senegal, further enhancing her analytical skills and quantitative expertise. Marrie has her second Master's in Regional Economics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China.

This international exposure broadened her perspective on economic policies and regional dynamics. Recognising the critical role of effective policy and planning in achieving sustainable development, she pursued a third Master's in Development Policy and Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.

This program deepened her insights into the strategic planning processes and policy formulation necessary for driving developmental projects and initiatives. Marrie's professional journey began in 2014 as a Cadet Planner of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science & Technology, where she demonstrated exceptional dedication and aptitude in her role.

Over the years, she has ascended through the ranks, leveraging her academic background and practical experience to contribute significantly to the field of development planning.

Currently, Marrie is the ministry project manager. In this capacity, she is responsible for coordinating the planning, execution, and management of projects within the Ministry and ensuring they align with the Ministry’s Strategic Plan and the National Development Goals and Objectives.
